Model Express is a new service from Zacks that updates your company spreadsheet models as soon as the company announces its quarterly financial results and calculates surprises by comparing the reported updated values with the Zacks consensus estimates for as many of the line items in your model as possible

Model Express can increase your productivity during earnings season by enabling you to focus your time and energy on interpreting the new information – rather than spending your valuable time collecting the newly reported company financials and related information

More importantly, the enhanced set of line item surprises created within your own model by Model Express may provide unique insights into both the near term and long term price response likely after a company reports.

We offer two levels of timely model updates

• Overnight - by 8AM EST we can update your models for those companies that reported before 8PM EST the prior evening. So while you sleep our team in India is working to update your models and your updated models are ready for you to use when you arrive at work in the morning
• Intraday - 30 Minute - for selected companies we can update your models during the day within 30 minutes of the company reporting its press release or filing an 8K

• We update the Financial Statement items as reported by the company, not the standardized financial statement items updated by some of the other market data providers, so when you use Model Express your model is actually updated
• We update Business Segment and Geographic Segment items
• We update Non-Financial Metrics, such as units of iPod sales for AAPL or same store sales for retailers and restaurants

We calculate surprises for the key financial statement line items, for Business and Geographic Segment revenue and for a large number of Non Financial Metrics

Model Express can be used to update an U.S. or non-U.S. Company for which you maintain a model

The Zacks Excel link, which is part of the Zacks Research System (ZRS) is able to read your existing model and is used to automatically update the newly reported relevant line items from data in the Zacks databases

We can do the updates - As soon as a company reports its quarterly results our analysts can update your models using our Excel Link and send you the updated model by email
