To select a file you would like to download, use the categories on the left or scroll down the Download page.

Once the file is selected, you will need to enter your username and password. If you do not have an Internet account or would like to change your password, please call our Client Services Group at 1-800-767-3771.

Files that will be decompressed using the Scheduler, should be downloaded into the x:\res\download folder.

All other files should be downloaded into the :\zir folder.

File Availability Schedule

New files are created nightly, and are retained on the system for 20 days thereafter. Files are generally available for downloading 24 hours per day, seven days per week. (Note: all times shown below are CST. )

How to Update Databases Using Zacks Multi-Task Scheduler

If you want to download files from our web site and then use Multi-Task Scheduler to update them, download files that are identified as "scheduler only".

* Please follow these instructions: 

Select the file from the Download categories (for example DBCM). Once the file is selected, enter your username and password.

Download files into the "x:\zacks\res\download directory".

When finished downloading data, open Zacks Multi-Task Scheduler. From the Multi-Task Scheduler's main screen, select the process the you would like to update and either select Edit Process from the pull-down menu or click on the toolbar to access the download process' parameters.

Next, from the Edit Process window under the Parameters (Default Processes only) section, check the box to the left of Skip Download. Click Run to automatically extract the file downloaded from the Internet and update the database.

To download data using the File Transfer Protocol (FTP), we will need to create your free Zacks FTP account first. Please call our Client Services Group at 1-800-767-3771 for assistance.

Zacks Data Files Descriptions

The following will help you make sure you are downloading the correct file. If you have any questions, please call our Client Services Group at 1-800-767-3771.

DBCM:
Weekly
DBCM (Scheduler Only) (file: dbce.zip)
The file dbce.zip is a compressed DBCM database and should be downloaded into the :\res\download directory. You should then use Zacks Multi-Task Scheduler to expand this file and replace your current DBCM which is located in your :\zir directory (size: 6.5 MB).

DBCM (file: dbcm.exe)
The file dbce.exe is a compressed DBCM database that is a self- extracting executable which is updated weekly. It should be downloaded into the :\zir directory. To expand this file, you will need to run the program from either Windows Explorer (File Manager) or the Start/Run (File/Run) command box. You do not need the Scheduler to update DBCM using this file (size: 6.5 MB).

Daily
DBCM (file: dbcm.exe)
The file dbce.exe is a compressed DBCM database that is a self- extracting executable which is updated daily. It should be downloaded into the :\zir directory. To expand this file, you will need to run the program from either Windows Explorer (File Manager) or the Start/Run (File/Run) command box. You do not need the Scheduler to update DBCM using this file (siz: 6.6 MB).

Daily DBCM and Prices
1-day Update (Scheduler Only) (file: zrsupd.zip)
5-day Update (Scheduler Only) (file: zrsupd5.zip)
15-day Update (Scheduler Only) (file: zrsupd15.zip)

The files zrsupd.zip are zip files which are updated daily. Each file contains either one (zrsupd.zip), five (zrsupd5.zip), or fifteen (zrsupd.zip) days of updates for DBCM and the price databases, DBDP (daily prices) and DBWP (weekly prices). To update your databases, these files must be downloaded into the :\res\download directory and updated with Zacks Multi-Task Scheduler. You can determine the file you need to download by opening the database in the ZRS module Screen, choosing Help/About, and reading the date it was last updated.


Consensus
Current consensus (file: current.dat)
Historical consensus files (file: yyyymmdd.dat)
These files are produced nightly. There are approximately 5,000 records: one record per company. Each record contains fifty-six items, showing consensus EPS statistics plus Zacks' 30-day consensus statistics for three fiscal quarters, three fiscal years, long-term growth.


Dividends
Historical daily dividends (file: yyyymmdd.dvc)
These files are produced weekly. Record count varies. Each record identifies a company with an upcoming or recent dividend payment and provides relevant date and payment information.


Estimates (Scheduler Only):
Estimates (file: estimate.zip)
The file estimate.zip is a compressed file that contains several databases used to update the ZRS modules, Estimates and Track Record daily. It should be downloaded into the :\res\download directory. You must use Zacks Multi-Task Scheduler to expand these databases, index them, and update your modules (size: 2.2 MB).


Zacks Indicator:
Weekly
Weekly DBZI (Scheduler Only) (file: dbzi.zip)
The file dbzi.zip is a compressed DBZI database and should be downloaded into the :\res\download directory. You should then use Zacks Multi-Task Scheduler to expand this file and replace your current DBZI which is located in your :\zir directory.

Weekly DBZI (file: dbzi.exe)
The file dbzi.exe is a self-extracting executable and should be downloaded into the :\zir directory. To expand this file, you will need to run the program from either Windows Explorer (File Manager) or the Start/Run (File/Run) command box. You do not need the Scheduler to update DBCM using this file.

Weekly Indicator (file: inddisk.dat)
The file inddisk.dat is a text file of the Zacks Indicator which is updated weekly and should be downloaded into the :\zir directory.

Daily
Daily Indicator (file: current.ind)
The file current.ind is a text file of the Zacks Indicator which is updated daily and should be downloaded into the :\zir directory.

Historical Indicator (files: 2000XXXX.ind)
. The files in this directory are text files of the Zacks Indicator dating back throughout the previous month and should be downloaded into the :\zir directory.

Date file (file: indicat.dat).
The file indicat.dat is a date file.


Z Prices
Current prices (file: current.prc)
Historical daily prices (file: yyyymmdd.prc)
These files are produced nightly. Approximately 8,000 records; keyed by CUSIP, ticker, and company name; providing day's high, low, closing price and trading volume.


Ratings
Historical ratings (file: yyyymmdd.rcn)
These files are produced nightly. Approximately 5,000 records: one record per company. Each record shows consensus recommendation for company, plus tally counts depicting distribution of individual broker recommendations.


Report Dates
Historical dates (file: yyyymmdd.exp)
These files are produced nightly. Record count varies. Each record identifies a company expected to report EPS within two weeks, and shows consensus EPS information for the quarter expected to report.


Revisions
Analyst Rating Revisions
Current revisions (file: current.rec)
Historical revisions (file: yyyymmdd.rec)
These files are produced nightly. Record count varies per nightly entry of data to Zacks' internal database. Each record shows a revision of a broker's estimate for one fiscal period for one company.

Estimate Revisions
Current revisions (file: current.rvc)
Historical revisions (file: yyyymmdd.rvc)
These files are produced nightly. Record count varies per nightly entry of data to Zacks' internal database. Each record shows a revision of a broker's recommendation for one company.


Surprises:
Current Surprise (file: current.srp)
The file current.zip is a text file of Zacks earnings surprises which is updated hourly and should be downloaded into the :\zir directory. This file will produce a special earnings report in the ZRS module Alert Reports (size: 16-90 KB).

Historical Surprises (files: 2000XXXX.srp)
These files are text files of Zacks earnings surprises which are saved at the end of each day and should be downloaded into the :\zir directory (size: 16-90 KB).

Date file (file: surprise.dat)
The file indicat.dat is a date file.


Zacks II:
Tape Distribution Format
The files estsum.arc and estsum.exe are available and should be downloaded into the directory where your current Zacks II database is stored (size: 2.0 MB).

Diskette Distribution Format
The files estsum.arc and estsum.exe are available and should be downloaded into the directory where your current Zacks II database is stored (size: 1.6 MB).

Consensus File
The files are historical consensus files and should be downloaded into the directory where these files are stored.
